Thank God For Science
The Fallout Shelter - 61 Endicott Street, Norwood, MA, 02062
Thank God For Science is what happens when you set 7 of New England's best musicians loose to do whatever moves them.
TGFS is "a roadtrip through ... far more than just one genre or feeling - one that hits on that soul and funk vibe that remains prominent throughout, but also spanning hints of rock n’ roll, jazz, reggae and blues." - Red Line Roots
"Thank God For Science is an intergalactic collage of 70s funk, reggae grooves, soaring synths, orchestral arrangements, and spoken word monologues, coming together as a sort of auditory found art piece."
This unique now 5 year old collaboration is the brainchild of bassist extraordinaire, Jeremy Moses Curtis - he also has another great group, Curtis Mayflower and has a vast array of experience with other great artists like Booker T and Levon Helm. His band mates include several Fallout Shelter veterans: James Rohr (Blue Ribbons) on keys, Peter McLean (Nephrok's Motown All-Stars, Maceo Parker) and Laurence Scudder (Danielle Miraglia and the Glory Junkies, Spotted Tiger). And they are rounded out by the superb guitar work of Mike Castallano and Marc Pinansky with Barry Rothman manning the turntables.
These guys are an experience seriously worth checking out.
Doors open at 6, music starts promptly at 7 - your ticket includes a light buffet while it lasts and a cool souvenir poster. We have a wine & beer bar for your drinking pleasure!
