TROY MERCY RETURNS
With Marco Giovino!! This duo flat out ROCKS!
The Fallout Shelter - 61 Endicott Street, Norwood, MA, 02062
When you are as good as these two you can create all kinds of cool, off-the-wall stuff and make it completely awesome. Troy Mercy is a guitar prodigy, a prolific songwriter with a booming vocal presence and he's also a mystery wrapped in an enigma. As Troy (Gonyea) he joined the Fabulous Thunderbirds as a teen and received praise from the highest order of blues guitarists including B B King. He does his own thing, never really paying attention to hype or noise and you gotta love that in a performer that can hold an audience in the palm of his hand with just a drummer on stage with him. Well, Marco Giovino isn't "just" a drummer...he's a musical genius as a producer and arranger and he's played drums for some heavy hitters including Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and Bob Dylan and a whole bunch more...together these two create atmospheric, engaging, high-test rock and roll with a boat load of flavor and texture. It's an amazing show as indescribable as it is. There's no genre for this and who cares about that anyway? This is just great music, made by two dynamic powerhouse musicians and that's all that should matter! This promises to be a mind-bending evening of deep, often dark, always scintillating music. An evening drenched in the murky waters of "cool." You will be immersed...baptized and soothed. This is blues. Real blues.

Troy Mercy is brand-new.
- He is an American singer, guitarist, harmonica-type-guy, songwriter, plus actor and bluesman.
- Mercy lives mysteriously in present-day rural Massachusetts. Or does he? Yes, he does.
- He has toured the world extensively as "Johnny-kick-ass-guitar-guy-for-hire" for acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Booker T and played on multiple Grammy nominated albums.
- Mercy has been called "one of the most outstanding, and often misunderstood, figures on the modern blues scene".
- B.B. King himself once pulled him aside to say how much he admired Troy’s guitar playing.
