NO STATIC
A TRIBUTE TO THE MUSIC OF STEELY DAN
Truth be told we have avoided the tribute band temptation at the Fallout Shelter for many years. Not that we have any problem with tribute bands, our thinking is just to concentrate on giving "original music" a place to thrive. No Static was the first and remains the "only" time we have hosted a "tribute" band and now they will be the second. This band, actually this ORCHESTRA, is flat out BRILLIANT in their execution of some of the most intricate and complex music ever written for the rock and roll stage.
This was an ambitious project we took on with No Static...fitting the critically acclaimed 10 piece orchestra on our stage and making it suitable for a video shoot will be a challenge for us but a night of pure music genius for you, the audience. What these musicians re-create is complex and requires precision because every song is familiar to the audience. When the "tried and true" Steely Dan fans think you are the best at it, well, that's saying something. We're pretty stoked about NO STATIC returning to The Fallout Shelter.
Based in Boston Ma , No Static is one of the top Steely Dan tribute bands in the country, is made up of 10 musicians from around the Boston area. They specialize in expertly performing the music of "Steely Dan." Re-creating that bluesy jazz-rock sound that sprung from the fertile imaginations of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker is no small feat. Dan-Fans know, that the music is complex, spanning many genres; very precise, with time changes and key changes popping up where sometimes least expected. Vocally and musically challenging, this is not an easy band to pay tribute to.
No Static has been doing it for over 15 years now and their sold-out shows tell the tale. They work at it and they get it right. Over the years they have been honored to share the stage with Steely Dan band members, Walt Weiskopf (saxophonist) and Jon Herington (Music Director/guitarist) as guests at their shows.
