GREG PICCOLO AND HEAVY JUICE

The Fallout Shelter - 61 Endicott Street, Norwood, MA, 02062

Throughout his career, Piccolo has earned multiple Blues Music Award nominations and induction into the New England Music Hall of Fame. He has shared stages and studios with an extraordinary range of artists, including Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pat Benatar, and Big Joe Turner, further solidifying his reputation as a world-class musician.

Greg Piccolo’s songs strike a universal chord as he tells his stories with a backdrop of instrumental finesse where every note and every space has purpose to best serve the song at hand.

Now well into 60 years of performing, Greg’s commitment to his music has not wavered. His first 25 years with the world renowned Roomful of Blues eventually placed him at the helm as lead singer, songwriter, bandleader, and major contributor to the distinguishable “Roomful sound”. Predominately a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist in 1994, Greg departed Roomful to focus on his own musical calling, a unique American Roots palette of traditional jazz, blues and r&b.

Today, Greg’s days remain anchored by his life long love for music and his commitment to serve every song he sings with passion, clarity and the purpose of generating an emotional response with each message. A typical Piccolo show will find Greg weaving in and out among powerful tenor sax ballads (think Ben Webster, Illinois Jacquet, Lester Young), honking rock ‘n roll (Red Prysock, Joe Houston), switching to guitar (think Earl King) to deliver his original r&b gems showcasing his distinguished vocals and fresh, “ less is more” guitar style.
