GOODNIGHT MOONSHINE

FEATURING MOLLY VENTER of RED MOLLY!!

The Fallout Shelter - 61 Endicott Street, Norwood, MA, 02062

Goodnight Moonshine is a musical marriage—the guitar and vocal duet of renowned Red Molly singer Molly Venter and prolific producer and guitarist Eben Pariser. Their collaborative result is Americana built around Molly's enviable voice and Eben's wide, imaginative harmonic sensibilities.

Molly is well known for her sublime singing in the prominent female-vocal-group Red Molly, while Eben cut his teeth as a street performer in New York City, playing guttural music of New Orleans with his band Roosevelt Dime.

Molly’s voice, which can be called both “biker-chick smoky” (New Haven Register), and “like silk” (American Songwriter Magazine), has taken her career to highlights including Tønder Festival in Denmark, Kate Wolf Fest in CA, Cayamo the acclaimed music festival cruise , and multiple placements on television and film. In Goodnight Moonshine she is in full force as a songwriter. Her trance-induced stream-of-consciousness writing style results in compositions that probe the depths of her inner experience. Her hit song “Hold It All”, (originally recorded with Red Molly and re-imagined on Business Unusual), questions the meaning of life, and grapples with acceptance- with the honesty and heart usually reserved for literary writers, which she also is: she writes a weekly column on Patreon.com

“A confluence of folk, blues and hints of jazz… a singular voice that recalls pre-diva singers who could lay out emotions without melodrama.”

“Fluid guitar lines leave room to breathe, while Venter’s smoky, unguarded vocal anchors each track.”
                                                                                                                                                   — NOTION
“Truly impossible not to love.”
                  — Plastic Magazine
“The sound of a life being radically restructured… tension between devotion and depletion, ambition and responsibility, love and exhaustion.”
                                                                                                                                                                                                  — Vents Magazine
“Written in the living room of life itself.”
                                                       — Flex Music Blog

“The chaos of modern life turned into something resilient, tender, and fully alive.”
                                                                                                     — TAGG (Australia)

Starting as a blues guitarist in his teens, Eben’s imagination was quickly captured by classic jazz, which he studied at the Oberlin Conservatory. “Pariser’s harmonic sensibilities are wide, imaginative” (NPR), and his career has involved singing lead and playing bass with Roosevelt Dime, playing drums and being musical director of Red Molly- but it is his love of guitar and improvising on display in Goodnight Moonshine. He combines flat-picking virtuosity, with a depth of jazz knowledge, and a touch of spiritual psychedelia. He looks up to players like Django Reinhardt, Ry Cooder, and Bill Frisell. A natural producer, Eben now has 9 studio records under his belt for himself and other artists.
